Participants will leave with ideas for teaching primary Spanish literacy using the “3 S’s”: \n\nSílabas: Move beyond ma-me-mi-mo-mu and apply phonetic knowledge to multi-syllabic words across languages.\nSelección de verbos: Learn to curate “high-utility” verbs that kickstart beginning writing\, allowing students to master basic conjugation while building functional\, expressive sentences.\nSus propios lectores: We will explore how to leverage students’ background knowledge and translanguaging to create custom readers that build student confidence in reading. \n\nTarget Audience: Primary Spanish Bilingual Teachers (K-2)\, Instructional Coaches\, Administrators\, Bilingual Program Directors
