This free\, in-person conference will provide teachers with a whole-group learning experience (via either a keynote or panel) as well as multiple breakout sessions so that participants can customize their learning. The IRC specialists will leave you feeling inspired\, energized\, and ready to start the new school year with fresh ideas for serving and supporting your multilingual learners. Get ready! Get set! Get to IRC’s EmpowerCon!  \nDuring this event\, EL/Bilingual/Dual Language educators will: \n  \n\nParticipate in a keynote presentation about empowering ourselves as educators serving multilingual learners\nExplore various breakout sessions centered around serving and supporting multilingual learners and their families\nBuild up their collective efficacy toolkit by recognizing the various ways in which they serve and support multilingual learners and families across their school or district\n\n  \nTARGET AUDIENCE: Educators\, instructional coaches\, and leaders who support multilingual learners\, their families\, and programming. \n\n\nNOTE: This in-person workshop will include a one hour lunch break on your own.

Are you hungry for ideas and inspiration to enhance teaching and learning in your culturally and linguistically diverse classroom? Are you interested in exploring how the experience of writing can help you deepen your practice?  \nWhether you already enjoy writing or have a rocky relationship with writing\, you are invited to join us for one\, some\, or all of the Free Write sessions! Once a month on Sunday afternoons we will get together to: \n\nExplore topics relevant to our lives and work as educators through a community writing process\nExamine poetry\, picture books\, and other texts to prompt our own thinking/writing and imagine how they might apply in the context of our own classrooms and other learning communities \nEngage in writing\, reading aloud\, discussion\, and storytelling together around a variety of different themes each month\nEmerge with insights\, ideas\, and activities from the community writing experience to feed our teacher spirit and refresh our practice     \n\nTARGET AUDIENCE: K-12 educators
