Join me for a look at how canciones (songs)\, dichos (sayings)\, and adivinazas (riddles) can be used to support teaching Spanish language and literacy. \n\nWe will explore how to engage students during Spanish literacy and oracy by using fun and popular canciones\, dichos\, and adivinanzas.\nWe will examine how these types of texts can be used as a way to teach foundational literacy skills by providing students with many different examples of Spanish language and culture.\nWe will look at examples for using canciones\, dichos\, and adivinanzas in Spanish Language Arts\, as well as connecting to English Language Arts for metalinguistic development.\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE: K-5 Teachers of Spanish Literacy
