Some of the literacy based strategies include making cross-language connections (Metalanguage) and Interactive Read Aloud. This seminar is one of a series of workshops aimed at developing biliteracy. The goals of this series are to develop an awareness of what research says about the importance of metalanguage\, literacy-based ELD and identify teaching approaches that develop biliterate reading. The series will target the English-Spanish dual language classroom setting\, but the strategies can be administered across program models that support culturally and linguistically diverse students.  Escamilla et all (2014) Biliteracy from the Start: Literacy Squared will be among the primary tools leveraged in this series as well other. \n\n\nAudience: Teachers K-5 (Spanish-English)
