Helping Multilingual Learners Show What They Know Mathematically: Grades 4-8

Participants in this session will:

  • Learn ways to engage students’ oral language and literacy during mathematics instruction
  • Practice strategies that support students’ mathematical reasoning and problem-solving
  • Explore a variety of concrete materials and multiple representations to engage learners and to help make the mathematics content accessible to a wide range of language learners 

TARGET AUDIENCE: teachers, interventionists, educators and practitioners who support math instruction for bilingual learners in grades 4-8.
