20th Annual Statewide Summit for Bilingual Parents
The Illinois Resource Center, in cooperation with the Illinois State Board of Education-Multilingual Department, is proud to present the Twentieth Annual Statewide Summit for Bilingual Parents: A Conference for members of Bilingual Parent Advisory Councils (BPACs) and parents of English Learners (ELs). This is an in-person event to be held on Saturday, May 2nd at the Tinley Park Convention Center in Tinley Park, IL.
It has been our honor and privilege to welcome parents and BPAC leaders from across the state to this event for more than 20 years, and are excited to move this event to a venue that can welcome our ever-growing community.
Throughout the day, conference presenters will address various important topics to help empower and support BPAC members in their roles and responsibilities.
These topics include:
- Family engagement
- Pre-K—Grade 12 educational programs and services
- Higher education opportunities
- Parental leadership and advocacy
- Immigrant and community issues
Interpreters will be available in various languages including Spanish, Polish and Arabic. When registering, please indicate if an interpreter will be needed and in which language.
Schedule of the Day: Check-in will begin at 7:30 am. Conference activities begin at 9:00 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. A reception for all participants ends the day.
Registration:
- $30 per person. Breakfast & lunch are included.
- Visa/Mastercard and Purchase Orders accepted. No refunds.
- Space is limited; districts may register up to 8 people to attend — 6 BPAC members and 2 school representatives.
Registration and substitution deadline: April 17th, 2026.
There is a block of sleeping rooms available for May 1 at a discounted rate of $159 plus taxes/fees . Deadline for room reservation is April 17, 2026.
