IRC offers a wide range of annual events for educators across the state of Illinois.
Our signature events include Multilingual Illinois, our signature statewide conference for teachers serving linguistically and culturally diverse students, as well as a summit for members of Bilingual Parent Advisory Councils and parents of English Learners, job fairs and networking opportunities, and the Teaching for Biliteracy Summer Institute.

Statewide English Learner Administrator Conference (SELAC)
The FY27 Statewide English Learner Administrator Conference (SELAC), formerly known as the Bilingual Directors Meeting, will take place September 23rd – 25th, 2026 at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Registration is now open.

I started as a student taking my ESL/Bilingual endorsement courses and attending critical professional development sessions to support my Dual Language teaching career.
