Participants are invited to engage in a live online session and a module for asynchronous learning in which we will: 

  • Explore the fundamental principles and concepts of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and examine them through the perspective of language, culture, and education for multilingual learners.  
  • Examine and sample approaches and strategies to support students’ progress toward the Social Emotional Learning Standards in a way that is particularly relevant for and responsive to the multilingual learners in your classroom.
  • Brainstorm and plan for how you can support SEL in your own teaching context. 

TARGET AUDIENCE: K-12 educators  

This virtual workshop will include both a live webinar and a self-paced learning module. The live webinar will last approximately 90 minutes.  During the webinar you will receive access to an asynchronous learning module to be completed within two weeks.  After the IRC receives your completed module, you will receive an email with a link to the evaluation.  Upon completion of the evaluation, you will receive an email with a link to your Evidence of Completion form.
