Canciones y dichos y adivinanzas, oh my!
Do you teach Spanish literacy in a bilingual or dual language program? If  you enjoyed my session on Teaching with trabalenguas, then you’ll love this session! Join me for a look at how canciones (songs), dichos (sayings), and adivinazas (riddles) can be used to support teaching Spanish language and literacy.
  • We will explore how to engage students during Spanish literacy and oracy by using fun and popular canciones, dichos, and adivinanzas.
  • We will examine how these types of texts can be used as a way to teach foundational literacy skills by providing students with many different examples of Spanish language and culture.
  • We will look at examples for using canciones, dichos, and adivinanzas in Spanish Language Arts, as well as connecting to English Language Arts for metalinguistic development.
