Formative assessments can often be more Informative than standardized instruments when it comes to assessing the learning of our multilingual learners. We can use formative assessments to understand how well our students have grasped what we have taught and what we need to focus on next. In this webinar we will:

• Learn how to separate language and content in order to get more informed results from our assessments
• Discuss using content and language objectives to guide both instruction and especially assessment
• Practice using objectives to create simple rubrics
• Discuss how formative assessments can provide ongoing valuable feedback to students and teachers
