Free Write: Conversations, Connections & Compositions to Nourish Our Teaching Practice
June 9 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
| Free
Are you an educator craving creative space where you can connect, generate, and share ideas with a community of colleagues? Are you hungry for ideas and inspiration to enhance teaching and learning in your culturally and linguistically diverse classroom? Are you interested in exploring how the experience of writing can help you deepen your practice?
Whether you already enjoy writing or have a rocky relationship with writing, you are invited to join us for one, some, or all of the Free Write sessions! Once a month on Sunday afternoons we will get together to:
-
Explore topics relevant to our lives and work as educators through a community writing process
-
Examine poetry, picture books, and other texts to prompt our own thinking/writing and imagine how they might apply in the context of our own classrooms and other learning communities
-
Engage in writing, reading aloud, discussion, and storytelling together around a variety of different themes each month
-
Emerge with insights, ideas, and activities from the community writing experience to feed our teacher spirit and refresh our practice
