  • Learn ways to engage students’ conversational language, and connect this to the mathematics register
  • Practice strategies to support students’ academic language that they can use to discuss mathematical concepts and reasoning
  • Explore a variety of concrete materials and multiple representations using grade appropriate concepts to help students develop solid understanding and build mental models
  • Discover whole group activities and grade level breakout sessions

This virtual workshop will include both a live webinar and a self-paced learning module. The live webinar will last approximately 90 minutes.  During the webinar you will receive access to an asynchronous learning module to be completed within two weeks.  After the IRC receives your completed module, you will receive an email with a link to the evaluation.  Upon completion of the evaluation, you will receive an email with a link to your Evidence of Completion. 

TARGET AUDIENCE: teachers, interventionists, educators and practitioners who support math instruction for bilingual learners in grades 4-8.
