Weekend Language Detectives: Keeping Authors Agency Alive K-8

Are you worried about your reluctant or rebellious writers? Come talk about why we should be more concerned about the writers that stay inside our prescriptive writing parameters.

In this workshop, we will explore how to conceptualize writing time to be a world of choice, independence, and inquiry that lets writers draw upon their language, interests, culture, and experiences.  Providing intentional moments of student agency (about content, style, structure, format, etc.), will allow your writers to develop a strong writing identity and engage more fully in the writing process. Leave with ready-to-use resources and protocols to use in your classroom!

TARGET AUDIENCE: K-8 General Educators, Content Area Specialists, Language Support Teachers and Everyone Else
