We are strongest when we work together, which is why the Illinois Resource Center works alongside districts and aligned providers in the multilingual education field to create programs, publications and resources to further support our educators.

We are proud of our multi-year partnership with the team at Math for All, a professional development program designed to assist schools in implementing high-quality, standards-based mathematics education for a wide range of students, to share knowledge and develop resources to ensure educators are empowered to set multilingual learners up for success in the math classroom.

In 2025, IRC Specialist Vanessa Figueroa launched a professional development collaboration with Peter Tierney-Fife from Math for All, including a multi-part PD webinar series on making math instruction more accessible for multilingual learners, blogs and podcast appearances.

IRC Specialist Michele Yanong worked alongside the Newcomers Committee for Evanston/Skokie School District 65 to co-create and curate a comprehensive guide to supporting newcomers in the district. The guide includes best practices for gathering information, orienting students and families, instructional support and scaffolding, and much more.
