Welcome to the July 2022 edition of the Resource Roundup, a monthly newsletter from the IRC, packed with readings, recommendations and resources you can use in your classroom or school community. If you have a resource you think would be valuable to share for this round-up, please email Lindsay Eanet at leanet@cntrmail.org with a link.

We are thinking of our friends & neighbors as they continue to process this week’s tragic events in Highland Park, IL. In this edition of the Roundup, we wanted to share some resources for talking about traumatic events with children, and showing up for students—and for yourself—in the wake of tragic and traumatizing events. Please take care of yourselves & each other.

Resource Spotlight: Your Local Library

Our friends at the Palatine Public Library recently added Ukrainian language children’s books to their collection! They also offer a host of books in Chinese, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Tamil! It’s so cool to see our local libraries serving multilingual learners. Make sure you’re following your local library & letting them know that these books & services are important to you and your students!
