Bilingual Parent Advisory Committees: Community of Practice
Bilingual Parent Advisory Committees: Community of Practice is an ongoing professional learning series designed to support district leaders, family/community liaisons and Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) leaders in building, strengthening and sustaining impactful BPACs. Participants will explore key topics including ISBE compliance requirements, family and community engagement strategies, recruitment and retention of BPAC members, and effective collaboration between BPAC members and school teams. The series will provide opportunities to share promising practices, problem-solve common challenges, and identify strategies for overcoming obstacles that may impact BPAC effectiveness and engagement. Through ongoing collaboration and reflection, participants will strengthen their capacity to create sustainable structures that leverage family voice and leadership.
